I’m super interested in the TS2 because of the rave reviews it’s gotten on golfwrx. I’m currently playing the TE and love them. What characteristics would I expect in making this change? Is it fair that with all things staying the same except the head I would hit them farther (due to stronger lofts & hotter face)? Also, how do they launch compared to the TE in height / spin.
I just want to make sure I understand what I would be changing for.
I think you will see more distance due to the reasons you list, the majority coming from the reduced lofts. When I hit them vs. my DBM’s the trajectory was a little lower and I did hit them farther. I did not see much difference in the spin when measured on launch monitors. I believe others have sated the same, that the distance was farther but the spin was similar to other clubs. Of course, some of what you will experience will depend on the shaft, your angle of attack, your clubhead speed, the shaft you use, etc. The great thing is you can try one club, like a #6 or #7 iron and compare before you invest in the entire set. Definitely a lot of positive feedback on the TS-2.
