Hi Britt

I wanted to follow up my question from the other day… if using KBS tour lite 95’s in my irons what would work best for a 54* and a 60*? I personally use my 54* moreso for 90 yard full shots and half shots etc. My 60 I open up quite a bit and hit various ways and it is my main club out of the bunker

I am a regular flex player I have been doing some evaluating with the KBS 95 and it is great for me however my wedges are HEAVY. They have the S200 shafts….. 35g heavier than what I have now…… I am going to have to order 2 x shafts from GW Canada this week

Should I get 2 x KBS TL95 wedge shafts for the heads? as I see the 610 is 110g and they really do not have any lighter weight shafts for the wedges? I am open to different shaft manufacturers as well. Maybe Nippon? something that will work. What is the golden rule with wedge shafts?

I do think going with a weight that is a little closer to the KBS TL95’s would feel more comfortable than the S200. I also think that going with and R flex would help as well. I worked for Dave Pelz way back for several years and he always felt wedge shafts should be the same flex or slightly softer than the shaft flex in the full swing irons. His theory was the majority of wedge shots are not hit with a full throttle swing, so the flex should be in line with the amount of force applied, and, the same or slightly softer flex in wedges provided better feel.

So, I would suggest going with the same shaft or something in the 95 – 110 gram range, in an R flex. The 610 is a is more of a low trajectory wedge shaft, so if you want that then you could try the R 610. However, I would like the KBS Tour Wedge in the R flex, also at 110, better as it is not as stiff feeling. You could go with just the KBS Tour Lite in the R flex as well. It’s basically the replacement for the Tour 90 and 95 and is good shaft.
