I’ll let the debate rage here. I do have an extensive opinion, but will keep it to myself, for now. All I will say is as a designer and manufacturer, I am against it. I like the idea of all of us playing the same ball, pro’s and amateurs alike. Shortening drivers to 43″ or 42″ will never happen and the athletes on tour would still hit those plenty far, trust me. Equipment is not obsolete and it’s debatable on whether or not some courses are, or not. Depends on the course set up and who’s playing them, doesn’t it? As far as slowing down play, there are plenty of reasons that play is slower, but equipment and the golf ball are not part of it. Understanding how to play on a course, by yourself or with others, is. Anyway, ya’ll debate away.
