I have never tried a wide sole wedge. Does the wider sole make the wedge play like it has more bounce. Any pros or cons would be appreciated.

I like the wider soles, just deliberately hit it fat, and the club slides under the ball, heaps of spin, low ball flight.
Wider soles generally do play like they have more bounce. Really wide soles are generally meant to help those who struggle with digging in or hitting fat shots and they are very good in softer turf conditions and softer sand. Usually you will not be able to roll the face open to generate more loft with wider sole wedges without raising the leading edge up too high, which is not what you want. Again, generally, the wider the sole, the easier to hit the standard, scoring pitches, chips and sand shots in neutral to softer turf conditions without the need to manipulate the face (or loft).
