According to a brief internet search it looks like Golfworks might have had a hand in making the 2010 MacGregor VIP, but I don’t see it on any MPF list. Does anyone know if this head was considered game improvement?

Was not Golfworks. It was Golfsmith. Did not get a chance to measure as a part of the MPF. I would guess, based on the look and what my experience is with models like this that they designed, it would not be rated too high. Short blade length and longer hosel does not enhance the playability. That might not be fair as I have not measured it, but just my observation. If I can get my hands on one, I will measure it.

golfsmith acquired MacGregor in 2009. Dick’s acquired Golfsmith in 2016. I would guess that Golfsmith might have had some input on the VIP. I can’t find a VIP made in 2010, but did see some info regarding them in 2008.
