I recently bought a KE4 TC Pro Adjustable 9W with a Fujikura Vista Pro R2 45 shaft and am blown away by the performance! It has become my “go to” club for several short Par 4s on my home course and is a solid 150 to 160 yard club for me off the tee and fairway. I’m looking for something to fill the 30-yard gap with my driver which I can likewise use off either the tee or fairway and would appreciate your input on the choice between the 5W or 7W.

By way of background, I am a 70 year old player with an average score of around 88 from our senior tees.

Bob, I’m 64 and average ~80 from our white tees. Recently started playing again after a 20 layoff to raise kids so had to re-evaluate my setup. I started out with D/3W/5W because “that’s how it’s done”. But, when I bought a 7W to replace my 3/4 iron I found that I didn’t really have a reason to keep my 5W in the bag. It was more difficult to get airborne off the deck and really didn’t add much distance. I’ve since added a 9W to get rid of my 5i and love it (it’s a Maltby). So, what I discovered is that, for me, the 7W was better than 5W. I now carry D/3W/7W/9W. Your results may vary…
