I have a nice fairway shaft that I’d like to fit into a Maltby head. The od is .350. I can’t find a good Maltby 3 wood head that is going to fit. I might be able to trim this down just a bit. I can give it a try at the sacrifice of the shaft. Can that be done safely? Any Maltby heads that fit a .350. Many thanks.

Really depends on the shaft as to whether or not it can be trimmed down. Trimming down .370 to .355 is usually more doable than trimming a .350 to a .335, but again, depends on the wall thickness of the shaft tip. We generally do not recommend trimming down a .350 to .335. Not saying it can’t be done, but again, just depends on the shaft. We do not have any .350 hosel diameter fairway woods. The industry went that way for a few years but fewer and fewer are making .350 hosels now.
