My 16yo daughter broke the shaft of her LTech 13° driver at State. It looks as though this head has been discontinued. She likes this club so I was possibly going to re-shaft it , but it has been well used and abused. Questions:
The M890 at 14° is a great replacement. I recently built one up for a customer and was able to do some testing before I turned it over to him.
First off the Flat Black is very good looking. Club has a great look behind the ball, very pleasing to the eye. The feel of the ball off the face was a hot, crushed it feel. Ball feels as if it leaps off the face. I also found this club to be very low spin. The Spin numbers really surprised me for being a 14° driver. Ball Speed was also right up there immediately being compared to a KE4 TC. Ball Speed was slightly lower as expected due to the increase in loft but very consistent. Smash factor was also very high. It is just a very efficient head.
My customer could not be happier. The carry and control he gained from the first swing was eye opening. I was fairly reluctant to hand it over to him as I truly enjoyed the club.
She is knocking on the door of an S flex. Certainly high end of R flex. But that also really depends on her Tempo and Transition.
With the stock Maltby shaft without seeing her swing or knowing more details I would say tip the R shaft.
Thanks for the recommendation. She is approaching 90 mph driver clubhead speed. What flex would you suggest out of the M890 Graphite: “L”, “LL”, “A”, “R”?
