Typically when using graphite shafts they are built plus 1/2″ for club S/W weights. Graphite shaft weights range
from ultra-lite to 100 gram’s plus. Maximum added weight in hosel is 10 grams. You can also use golf grips
lighter in weight to help achieve the swing weight; and lead tape on club head. If your having a club builder do this for you, he will typically weigh all the components prior to build.
Rlafoone is spot on about the weird science with counter balanced shafts! :-)
When moving from steel to graphite, the weight of the shaft will decrease.
Every 9 gram decrease in shaft weight will yield a decrease of 1 SW.
If the shaft is counterbalanced wierd science happens :-)
