I have a set of Ping I200 irons with 115 gram steel shafts, which have become too heavy for me to play. I love the heads, so is it possible to replace the steel shafts with 75 gram graphite shafts? Are there different iron heads for steel shafted irons versus graphite shafted irons?
You can replace the shafts with graphite. Ping does swing weight the clubs at assembly by using weights that are installed in the heads, so the heads were swing weighted to their spec with the original steel. Just be aware that if you are making the clubs the same length with the 75 gram graphite shafts, the swing weight will be lighter, assuming the same weight grip is used. the shaft is 40 grams lighter and that could translate into as much as 4.5 swing weight pint difference, again assuming the same playing length, grip weight.

no problem swapping graphite for steel. note that the Ping I200’s use a .355″ tip so you would need to select an replacement shaft (graphite or steel) with a .355 tip…or ream the hosels out to .370″ if there is a shaft that size you would want to install.
