Currently play Ping G25 irons with stock Ping TFC 189 graphite regular shafts, (MPF 821). Considering going to Ping G410 irons Alta CB red regular shafts (MPF 738). The MPF suggests that the G25 is better club head? Is this true?

Although the G25 is 83 points higher, that’s not a lot. Both are very forgiving and playable heads. Rlafoone is correct in that the Vertical CG is a major factor in the difference and has more of an impact than MOI. Ralph has stated that for most players is would be difficult to notice the difference in performance in a 100 point difference in MPF, especially when they are both in the Super Game or Ultra Game category.

So, I would assume that these two heads would perform essentially the same. I would gain nothing by upgrading to the G410. I started playing golf with the BeCu Ping Eye2 clubs and switched to the G25 when they came out. Frankly I did not see a great difference then, and I guess I probably would not see a great difference with another upgrade now.
big factor negatively affecting the G410 is VCOG. it’s Vertical Center of Gravity of .846 is above the centerline of the golf ball. the G410 does have a very high MOI, but the VCOG trumps it.
