Hi moondog, I suffered from the same. Michael breed had a write up in a golf mag last year that helped immensely. Besides a stronger grip, moving the ball back in your stance will allow you a more inside to outside path with your swing. You then need to keep the club face square to the target. Should minimize the slice and possibly bring in a small draw.
As I got older I had difficulty completing my follow thru. This caused me to come over the top as I would hang back- more of an arm swing.
Also using a shaft that’s rated in my case 3B2S,
helps me square the club face at impact (I use a ust mamiya competition 65 graphite shaft).
