I’m thinking of replacing my TU’s. Anyone have any opinion about the DBM vs the TE’s?
Hello, Pierre, you probably already know that the club head design is virtually identical. I play the TE forged and love them, and I have customers playing the DBM and love them. (I think Britt Lindsey plays the DBM.) You can’t go wrong either way. The DBM head looks smaller and of course is dark. TE is easier to bend for loft/lie, although I have had no difficulty bending the DBM for my customers. They are also more “forgiving” on mis-hits. My only slight concern is for those who already have high launching shots. The vertical CG is the lowest among the Maltby heads. I even use the lowest launching shaft on the market (TTDGSL) and still launch it a little high, but I can live with that!
I’m sure Britt will have some great insights to add. Hope this helps.
Hello, Michael. Thanks for responding. I’ve been leaning toward the TE’s; but it is difficult not to like the DBM look. Some time back I put a DBM 3 iron head on a Score LT shaft and while I like the look I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the feel of the combination. (That’s where that got started) I’m thinking the KBS would be worth the extra dough. I have a slow tempo but really long arms for someone 5-10. My 150 yd club, on the flat with no wind, is a 9 iron(42*)
