No plans for another PTM Black production run. That model has been out of the lineup for several years. Can not apply the DBM technology to stainless. The other options for black finishes on stainless, in our experience, just do not hold up that well, so we do not have any plans for a black finish o the KE4 MAX model. Interesting you struggle with digging on a model like the KE4 MAX vs the PTM. The sole design on the MAX should help prevent it more than the PTM, but I understand that every player is different and how they perform with a particular club is totally unique to them. Have not heard that the MAX finish isn’t holding up. We have hit a lot of balls with test clubs on mats and turf since it has come out and I do not see anything but normal wear. It’s a stainless steel head with a polished sole and bead blasted face. Over time you will see some wear on the sole and the face, as with any iron and material. I would say that polished soles will show the turf marks more than maybe a satin finish might. Just depends on the type of turf. Sandy turf tends to show the turf marks more on polished soles. One of our guys has played them all summer and the wear I see I would consider normal, and I just looked at our demos and I did not see any unusual or concerning wear issues. That being said, I would like to see what your seeing so we can evaluate.

I may have misconstrued my results with the KE4 Max. It suits my game amazingly well. I love everything about them. I’ve been gaming the PTM Blacks on and off for years. Recently I bought another set of low mileage, putting my go to shaft in, now back in the bag. Adding just now the TE+V4 DBM Pw Gw, I’ve been spoiled by the way the DBM finish ages.
As great as the new designs are the PTM Blacks keep finding their way back.
