We generally do not advise using filler in metal wood dents. We have done it before on smaller dents and it just does not hold. When we have done it, we drilled a very small hole in the dent, put the filler in, sanded smooth, painted over it and although it looked OK, it did not take long for it to break loose. On metal woods, the whole head moves at impact and the movement and vibration that occurs it seems is too much for a filer to hold for very long. It’s been so long since we have even tried it I don’t have the type of filler we used. I will try and find out and post it just in case you want to give it a try.

I agree with Britt. It’s not like we’re putting Bondo on a 76 Fiat 124 Spyder!
the only other option I know of, and it’s a bit scary, is to drill a hole opposite of the dent in the toe, insert a narrow machinist punch and attempt to pop the dent out. I did it once on a crown dent on a STW. It really depends on the sharpness of the dent on the toe. On the STW, I was fortunate and the crown paint didn’t crack.
