I am curious to hear what people’s experiences are with the high balance point driver shafts. I see GolfWorks offers a few —- Kuro Kage, Tensei AV Raw Orange, C6 ONYX— in the catalog. I have found a few articles/Youtubes on them, but would still like to hear more personal accounts as to how they worked for people. What type of golfer would you recommend them for? I am probably more interested in the Kuro Kage Black HBP because of the price point. I see that is offered as a premium driver pak option. How does Kuro Kage HBP shaft play versus the “traditional weight positioned” graphite driver shafts (if this can even be said)?

I used the Kuro Kage hbp shaft in a KE4 TC head and it works and feels just fine. Since I am old and in a quest to maintain distance, I build my drivers to 46″. Usually I have to reduce weight in the head or use very light shafts to get a reasonable swing weight. Not so using the hbp shaft. So, the hbp shaft allows over length assembly or additional weight in the head which can lead to distance or forgiveness gains. I founded no difference in “feel”. I’m sure that hbp shafts can be made with a great variety of characteristics, just like regular shafts.
