Based on the profiles in our data base, the Stepless are slightly stiffer in the tip, but the Stepped are slightly stiffer in the butt section. Mid sections are similar. Have not compared the playability difference side by side in a long time and I’m not sure most would be able to tell much of a difference in ball flight. That being said, and generally speaking, with the variances in the tip and butt sections there could be some feel difference, depending on the player. Along those lines, some will say that Stepless dampens the feel more than Stepped. Overall the variances in the butt section stiffness and tip section stiffness might balance out, one being slightly stiffer in the butt section, the other in the tip. In all the years we have used and sold it, I really have never seen a pattern of comments or information that indicate there is a noticeable difference in performance, only a slight feel difference for some.
