I know I have seen the benefits of full face wedges personally and my golf league on the performance and benefits of full face grooves wedges I got to thinking if we had full face grooves on irons I think it would look cool but the performance hopefully would work !!!! It Would probably appear to look longer or bigger just based on the longer grooves on the face more confidence and performance ain’t never hurt nobody!!!!!! Would full face grooves on irons have any disadvantages or advantages over irons out in todays market ?

Just out of curiosity Britt, would full grooves have any negative play-ability factors. Also would it be more expensive to manufacturer. It would probably look cool, and with my game that might make them worth it.

Full face grooves on irons would not have any negatives with regards to playability and shouldn’t add to the cost of manufacturing. Still, not sure I see much of an advantage for full face grooves on a full set of irons.

Full face grooves make more sense on wedges because wedge shots from a variety of lies and with multiple face positions utilized (open to different degrees, depending on the shot) are hit in a broader area on the face than most irons are. That being said I understand that many players hit irons all over the face as well. While full face grooves could help to a small degree with spin on shots hit way off center, possibly, if you hit an iron so far off center you are out of the traditional groove pattern, spin is the least of your concerns, in my opinion. Still, no reason not too have full grooves on irons, but i just don’t see any real benefit for most players. Wedges, I do for the above mentioned reasons.
