Difficult to say definitively for every player. Generally speaking if we assume the H3 with a graphite shaft will be at least 1/2″ to 1″ longer in playing length than a traditional #3 iron, and we assume the 19 degree loft is similar to the loft on that same traditional #3 iron (20 degree is more common on #3 irons), I would say you should hit the H3 longer than a normal #3 iron. So, If I had to assign an Iron # equivalent, I would say the H3 would be comparable to a #2 iron for most. That being said, how many players do you know still hit, or have ever hit a #2 iron? If you did, I believe the comparison would result in the H3 being much easier to hit, deliver a higher trajectory, while delivering at least the same distance as a #2 iron, but most likely go a few yards farther.
