First of all this is a great putter, I love it! I play a lot of morning golf and wipe down and clean the putter quite frequently ,but I was wondering if there have been any issues with the PTM 5 with rust spots? I live on the east coast of Canada so the weather can be a little wet during the golfing season.
Not really I’m about 50 miles from the ocean, I have built 4 other of theses putters and all seems to be fine with my customers.
We have not seen that kind of condition on this head, but if moisture is left on the head for a length of time, surface conditions like this can occur. It is plated carbon steel, so it most likely is just surface rust. You should be able to take WD40 with a clean cloth, wipe it on the surface, and remove the spots. Or, you can hit it lightly with a scotch brite pad and it should come off. If you don’t want to attempt these solutions, no worries. You can contact us and we will exchange it, with the understanding that it could occur again if the surface is not kept dry. I see this occur mostly when a putter is put into a head cover after playing when it is wet. The moisture gets trapped against the surface and never dries and you get surface rust.

Britt, thanks for the quick response. I will continue to try to remove the spots, no need to exchange unless you think it would continue to get worse.
I would hope that if you were able to remove it and the club head remained dry that it would not return. If you can’t remove it or gets worse, please let me know and we will exchange it.
