The topic has come up before. Just for everyone’s info. I just reshafted G410’s with Alta CB shafts from the G425, so basically the same shafts. There is definitely a lot of play in the hosel, in fact .370 shafts would fit with still a “lot” of play. I used the specific Golfworks ferrules for the G410 and they were extremely difficult to push on. I had to use my shaft puller, in reverse, to do so. The golf works ferrule installer wouldn’t fit over the collar.

We do know that the shafts from the factory on those models are .355″ tapered. That being said, and I do not have the 410 in front of me, but I do have the 425 and the 710 and it appears they could take a .370″ shaft. It appears to Jim and I that they may be doing some kind of universal hosel on some of the models, or they are just running the .370′ further down before it tapers. I did not see a lot of play with the .370 when I stuck them in the heads I have, but they went in. If you use the .355″ I think you’re just going to have to shim them some, use some beads, or both. If a .370″ tip shaft will go in with the proper insertion depth, no reason you couldn’t use it.

Yes, a .370 is no problem, with the .355 Alta shafts I used lots of shafting beads, and with the correct ferrule they centred quite well. Curious that ping make these with that much play, oh well.
Unusual for sure, at least based on history and what we have seen from Ping in the past.
