I really hope that this isn’t the case as I was intending to really ramp up advertising and get back into more custom fitting this spring as I now have more time available.
So checking off what would be a TS-2/Dynamic gold 105 club pak has jumped up nearly $100. Great for your custom shop by why would I even bother getting back into club fitting as now I’m nearimg into OEM territory.
Maybe the industry has changed and you are changing with it but you are gonna kill the club fitter who trys to make any sort of profit.
The whole draw of Maltby is a reasonably priced set of clubs a working man can enjoy. Quite a few potential customers look at resale value of the Maltby sets and back away from purchase. Now those sets have just jumped substantially in price.
Yes stock shaft paks are still a viable option but the consumer today is a lot more knowledgeable and most want a custom shaft option. At that point I’m just a web site referral tool. Where is the fun in that.
If you can no longer be profitable with the premium paks I understand. If it’s to have options to sell blended sets, that makes sense as well. But for a club builder it’s a tough pill to swallow.
Britt, I have to say thank you for being receptive to the customer base. There was a high level of anxiety on some of the other forums and I got a few PMs with some animated conversations.
I see the custom shop as being a great option for people to really get a special build for themselves. It should prove to be a great tool moving forward.
Maltby has proven over and over recently how a world class product can be offered at a more than reasonable price. In a way it’s not really fair to be putting out product that if it had a Callawy or Taylormade stamp on it… would qualify to be iron of the year any way you looked at it. The new KE4 TC driver head is another product that will shock a lot of people.
Again thank you.
