Hi, I’m playing a half set of Mizuno JPX 919 forged with Fujikara MCI 60-R (bought off eBay, not fitted, but I like them a lot). Now I’d like to change, mainly for the fun of changing and also for the higher forgiveness. I went to a big store here (no names), but I wasn’t happy. I hit a 7 iron and had as mean value of 110 mph ball speed and 156 yards carry (driver speed 92-97). The shop suggested as shaft a Mamiya UST Recoil ESX 460 F2 (!!) and as club head the Mizuno JPX 921 Hot metal Pro (I tried the 225 and preferred the feel, but they suggested the Hot Metal suits me better). I liked the light and “whippy” feel, but i pulled all the shots left.

So now I’d like to build the clubs myself and was considering the TS1, but I’m only playing a half set.

My current setup is

56° – 35 1/4″ – 76 yards (carry)
51° – 35 3/8″ – 87 yards
PW – 45° – 35 3/4″ – 106 yards
9 – 40° – 36 1/8″ – 118 yards
8 – 35° – 36 1/2″ – 133 yards
6 – 28° – 37 1/4″ – 155 yards
5hy – 24° – 39 1/2″ – 175 yards

I did the shaft selection tool and came up with 4C2M. My worry is that a stiff shaft will feel like a stick to me. I would also like suggestions regarding lofts and lengths and how the shot length of the TS1 compare to my Mizunos.

Thanks a lot!
Tom
