If you were to take 2 wood shafts from different manufacturers, both rated A flex, within a couple of grams of each other, one shaft having a torque of 4.0 and the other a torque of 5.5 what difference in playability could be expected? Would the average golfer be able to detect a difference? Would the higher torque shaft be expected to feel more “whippy”?

I know that an A flex shaft from manufacturer to manufacturer can vary widely in terms of stiffness, but is there an industry standard used by all manufacturers for measuring torque?
