I sometimes have a golfer with a CHS less than 60 mph and the M890 LL usually is a good fit.
What other shafts might be softer and lighter than the M890 LL wood and iron shafts?
Sometimes you really just need a noodle!
(By the way, really liking the M890 heads – great for ladies, but also for male seniors and juniors without looking like just a girls club!)

The M890 LL is soft and our thoughts in designing it originally were that it would be great for juniors and any golfers with really slow swing speeds. To make something lighter is not too much of an issue if we wanted, other that it would most likely cost more. More flexible and lighter would require some testing to see how flexible you could go with an ultralight material and still maintain stability and durability. I know it can be done with materials that are out there, but their availability and cost (at least at the moment) make it not something we would take on right now.
Agree the M890 products with the M890 shafts are a great choice for a lot of players, especially the player types you mentioned. Sells very well and the feedback is all positive.

In looking at what we carry and what is in our database, the UST MP L flex is close. It is 50 grams, so it is lighter. Slightly stiffer in the butt section than the LL M890, but similar in the mid section and slightly more flexible in the tip section, based on our test samples from several years ago. If they didn’t change anything in the build or manufacturing at UST, then current stock should be the same. Grafalloy ProLaunch 45 is slightly firmer throughout the profile except in the tip where it is about the same as the LL.

Actually, what I meant was not for Golfworks to add a more flexible shaft, the M890 LL is great. I want to know what other shafts are out there that might be even softer, and perhaps lighter than the M890 LL wood or iron shaft.
