I am looking at steel fiber shafts by Aerotech. Do they dampen the vibration at impact? What are the differences between the steel fiber, graphite, and steel shafts? Has golfworks done any testing on these shafts?
Steel Fiber shafts have been around for a long time and have been consistent performers for a long time. They are composite (graphite) that is wrapped by a thin steel thread. The do dampen vibration better than traditional steel. Not sure what kind of testing information you want, but I personally have them in my two FDI driving irons and love them. Have fit many players in them over the years. A lot of weight choices available, in both parallel tip and taper tip options. I consider them a premium, top tier performer in the composite shaft category.
