Are Steel Shaft A-Flex Taper Tip shafts available anywhere. I have not been able to find any. I was reshafting a set of Pings for a friend and I have not been able to find any.

If they don’t exist is there any way to use R flex shafts to make A flex? I was thinking maybe a 3 iron shaft for a 5 iron and move down from there. He is only shafting 5-SW. Would that work?

Nippon Zelos R2 flex is very soft.

As you questioned, you could soft step an R shaft since you’re only doing 5-SW. I believe the average is about 1/3 flex per each soft step, so a 2 iron in a 5 iron might give you what you’re looking for. The best way to decide is a club maker to check the frequency change while dry fitting.
You could also buy one shaft and try it in a single iron before buying a whole set.
