I’m finding that a stiff steel shaft in my fairway woods is more to my liking. 2 questions
1. Will the Maltby fairway heads be unusually heavy compared to an actual wood head? I’ve got a couple of older shafts.
2. If I go for a graphite shaft, what is the heaviest shaft available from Golfworks.

1. No. The Maltby heads will not be heavy. In fact, fairway wood head weights today are generally lighter than in years past to accommodate the longer lengths players are playing their fairway woods.
2. Our Maltby MPF fairway is 77 grams and the Paderson Kinetixx TS-F Fairway is 64-79 grams depending on the flex. Not many Fairway specific shafts are made by companies. That being said, all wood shafts can be used in fairway woods by adjusting the trimming. The difficult is finding a wood shaft that you can use that is heavier than the 70-79 gram range. There are few manufacturers that do still make a fairway shaft in the 80+ gram range, but we would have to special order.
