Hi,

I currently have a Fly-Z+ playing at 45.5″ with a Matrix Ozik White Tie 55X4 shaft, the swing weight is D3.

If I install a UST Mamiya Competion 65 shaft, tipped 1″ for stiff flex and overall playing length of 44.25, what will the swing weight be?

I know the Matrix is 59g and the UST is 67g. I’d like to keep the swing weight around D2 / D3. So I’m wondering if it’s below D2, if buying a heavier head weight would get it back to D2/D3. I see they go up to 17grams for the head weights.

I have a spreadsheet that calculates swingweight (thanks Tim Hewitt), but the results are not guaranteed :). Here’s what I get.

Assumed values: Head weight 204g, Grip weight 63.5g (did this to get the Ozik at D3), uncut shaft length 46″

Ozik at 45.5″ comes out to D3
Mamiya at 44.25″ comes out to C8.1 (pretty well matches my 1″ = 4 swingweight points for a driver rule of thumb)

To get the Mamiya to D2.4, you’d need to add 7 grams of tip weight.
