Hi, I have a spare set of Titleist 775CB irons that I would like to re-shaft to a graphite set as a comparison against my current MMB-17s with FST Pro 125 X (tipped 1/2in) I am currently playing.

Looking to maintain that similar flex profile but see if switching to a Tour style graphite shaft will give me a bit more forgiveness.

Looking through the catalog I see the Steelfiber fc115CW has a similar MPF rating as the FSTs. I also remember you selling the Excaliber Tour iron offering with similar specs.

I’d like to keep costs as low as possible & I can see a switch to graphite will be a significantly more expensive jump than steel.

Will the Aerotech or Excaliber options work with my heads? How would I trim these?

Several thoughts to share: First, I looked up those Titleist 775 CB iron heads and they take a taper tip shaft (.355). Unfortunately, this will reduce the number of graphite possibilities. (Some say you can sand down a parallel tip to that size safely, but it is not recommended, and I never do that.)

As far as the XCaliber shafts are concerned, sadly, they are no longer available. On the other hand, Aerotech has a number of excellent Steelfiber shaft possibilities in a variety of weights, although they’re pricey. I’ve been very impressed with their performance and would expect them to be a good option for you.

Thanks Michael, I have tried a Paderson shaft in an older Wilson Driving Iron & I really liked the feel.
The specs on the MPF for the Paderson you list isn’t my desired spec, I am getting better results with 4.5C1H ratings (FST Pro 125, KBS C-Taper), how much of a difference do you feel that the 5B1H will have?
