Will the TS2 be high MOI? I find the hybrid ST irons very forgiving and n.
ote they have very high MOI.
Also will they have higher COR thin faces?
Or perhaps other designs in the works that fit above criteria?

Thanks for the prompt reply. The Hybrid ST I was referring to is the Hybrid ST design from 2008. MOI is 17.4410. I seem to find higher MOI designs more forgiving. Either it’s mental or perhaps because I hit steeply down on the ball with plenty of speed and have no problems with getting the ball airborne, for my technique MOI is more important on of center hit performance than the norm? Have you done any robot testing on that?
RDM recoils(2006)+AST hybrid also have very high MOI without sacrificing CG placement. Is there a specific reason the current designs don’t also have such high MOI. I can imagine such a design + multi material and high COR face design would be the créme de la créme.

MOI is important on off center hits. That is primarily why you want a stable, higher MOI design. Rearward cg also is important in stability and MOI. That being said, an MOI of 17.4410 is very rare and difficult to achieve without making a design with a longer blade length. Also, it is important to understand the variations in iron MOI’s is not very high. Worst case I may have seen something in the 9’s or 10’s and best case is the 17+. To put into perspective, putters can range from 13 or less to 93. MOI in putters is a much bigger deal than in irons. We have not done testing to distinguish specific differences in performance between modern irons with different MOI’s, but we do know that a higher MOI will be more stable and more forgiving, just like in putters, but the variances will be less. It is very evident, at least to me, when you hit a more stable iron off center the feel and the shot is better, no doubt.

The TS2 preliminary MOI is 12.4474 ouin². The STi-HS is 14.1098 ouin². So the STi-HS is a little higher, but the difference is not enough to influence the performance in a major way. For irons, both are on the high side for MOI.
The TS2 will have a thinner face design, creating higher ball speeds off the face.
