I have a Veylix 673 shaft that I would like to use in my 3 wood as I have the 573 in my driver. The problem I have is that the supplier says I should tip it 1/2” and the senior VP of the manufacture has informed me to tip it 1 1/2”. Does anyone have any input or experience with these shafts??

We don’t carry and have no information on them. I might try contacting them back and getting clarification on why there is a discrepancy between a supplier and the VP of manufacturing.

I did reply t the manufacturer asking were they sure if it was 1 1/2” as it seemed like a lot. The reply I got was that is what they recommend but a fitter would know my swing better and to go with their advice. I was fitted for my driver at club champion which did not need to be trimmed. I spoke to a guy that works on shafts and he also said that 1/2” tip is standard but sometimes goes to 1” depending on manufacturer so I’m at a loss as what to do.
easy solution – use 5 minute epoxy if you’re in a rush.
trim it 1/2″ – give it a try. If it performs well, Butt trim to your playing length.
If it performs poorly, trim 1″ ( or 1.5″ if you prefer), give it a shot, then Butt trim to length.
Looking at a 2017 GW shaft trimming guide, I noticed those shafts that are trimmed 1.5″ (or longer) for a 3W also required a 1″ tip trim for a Driver. If you know your driver was trimmed 1″, that would seem to point to trimming the shaft 1.5″ for your 3W.
Just some thoughts….
The Driver in this series wasn’t tip trimmed at all, but the info I’ve received here really helps a lot and I really appreciate it!
