Will the Golf Works be looking at sourcing/supplying/testing performance of the new Vice golf balls?
I don’t believe GolfWorks will do any of those things, Chris. I don’t think they do any ball testing, and they probably won’t carry Vice golf balls since they are direct marketed.
In my opinion, there are many good golf balls out there, unlike the old days when there were only a handful that performed well – Titleist, Wilson Staff, MacGregor (because of Nicklaus). Some, like Titleist, are marketed so heavily today that people think they are superior, but you’re not getting a better ball by paying $50 a dozen, imho.
And now even Costco has their own ball, probably made by Callaway, which is getting excellent reviews and they’re just $33 including shipping for 2 dozen!
Finally, I’d like to add that golfers need to give much more attention to the kind of ball they play because it will affect the launch and spin of their shots as much or more than the kinds of clubs and shafts they use.
Hope this helps. Michael
Vice golf balls and at least 10 other brands are actually manufactured by a Taiwan company Foremost, not that there is anything wrong with that. You might recall that Titleist sued a large number of small golf ball companies a couple of years ago., these were all Foremost balls, but Titleist never sued Foremost themselves.
Foremost hasnt produced a new golf ball for 5 years or so. Not saying anything bad about Vice golf balls, but they are most certainly not new, nor special in any away.
