I see that the stock shafts use TT Regular….I have stiff flex but wonder if there is something better?
If you have the Speedstep 85 steel shafts these are a light weight shaft in the high 80 gram weight range. Most of these lightweight steel shafts these days also tend to play more flexible then normal. If it were me I would consider things like does this shaft feel to light and is it causing me control problems. Control problems could also happen if it is playing to flexible. I would want to identify what characteristics about this shaft I need to make better. Do you need need a lower trajectory. The Speedstep 85 would be designed to hit the ball higher and playing more flexible then normal would contribute to the higher trajectory. Do I need a heavier shaft to help me with the pace and timing of my swing? There is not one shaft that will make the XR irons better for all players but there can be a shaft that will make them better for you. You might want to go through our Maltby Playability Factor for shafts to see which shafts come up in your 4 digit code. Here is the link. http://www.golfworks.com/mpf-shaft-fitting-worksheet/a/496/
