Absolutely 100% behind both ideas, but I’m sure whatever changes that get made won’t go nearly far enough to make a significant impact on the problem.
Distance has done nothing but increase the cost of the game while it diminishes the relative value of shot making. It’s not only made equipment obsolete, but it’s made golf courses obsolete. It’s increased the time it takes to play the game as well.
I could write quite a bit on this subject including other improvements that should be made to both equipment and course design.
The only good thing “length” has done is to provide entertainment for people who like to witness a drive go farther than they can actually see.
