I built one of these for my son for Christmas and he struggles with it.  He’s a college baseball player turned golfer so you can imagine the ball flight he’s struggling with.  To prove that it’s a good driver, I made a shaft to my specs and hit it alongside my Ping G440 today during a round.  Similar distance and similar ball flight.  It’s a great head, but I don’t like the sound (like a Marucci aluminum bat).  Here’s my question:  has anyone tried filling it with hot melt or foam to deaden the sound?    Any other recommendations for softening the sound?

Thanks!

What about Golfworks Head Tac Adhesive? Anyone used this for sound reduction?

I ended up using Head Tack adhesive and it provided a small amount of sound reduction (which is all I really needed). I used 3g, which I hope is evenly distributed along the bottom of the club head. After putting in the adhesive, I et the club head on a hold plate for 2 hours at ~ 150 F to help it spread out. I have no idea if this worked or if it’s just a giant blob on the bottom. I also replace the 8 g stock weight with a 6 g weight, netting a gain of 1 SW. Hope this helps — if anyone wants to try this, it appears that hot melt is now only available with a ~$600 heat gun now, meaning it appears as if the company that makes it doesn’t want to deal with “homeowners” any more. Good luck, boys!
