Small corks is what we have used and what we sell, but any of the suggestions mentioned should work.

I use steel wool (had it on hand) and pushed it down the shaft with a 3/32 steel rod.
I another member on the forum recommended fiberglass insulation which i think would work well also.
pieces of a cotton ball would work to I guess.
none would have much affect on SW
