This may be a stupid question, but if I pour some lead weight down a club shaft, how do I keep it in place?

I use steel wool (had it on hand) and pushed it down the shaft with a 3/32 steel rod.
I another member on the forum recommended fiberglass insulation which i think would work well also.
pieces of a cotton ball would work to I guess.
none would have much affect on SW
