customer sent me this pic wondering if set of irons were anything special (in regards to dollars and date of manufacture). Palmer Boss II irons (no umbrella), but don’t look like the typical ones I’ve seen with an umbrella stamped on the back. Also the cavity is much different on the umbrella style. Irons have original grips and from another pic appears it has true temper shaft of some sort.
the bag that came with the set is awesome!

Hi Whitey. I agree the picture isn’t great but it does show the basic info. No umbrella and the Boss II logo.
I’ve attached a couple more photo’s in the original question. shafts appear to have True Temper labels (again, pictures aren’t very clear). The wood (true wood) is a Pro Group, Inc – Palmer Boss II.
Research I’ve found is that Pro Group, Inc came into existence in 1975 after Palmer clubs were struggling (never really caught on) and they marketed other brands like nancy lopex and i think they have something to due with Hotz. I agree with Britt they are probably just another set of retail clubs. My customer though is curious and mentions “1st addition”. Myself, I would donate the clubs to salvation army or goodwill. The bag on the other hand would look good in my shop to store shafts or demo clubs. Hell, I’d toss it in the cart and use it on the course for special events. I love it!
