I am 75 yo golfer who plays to a 9-10 hdcp. I have lost clubhead speed (88-90 mph) but still hit the ball solidly most of the time. My tee shots take off like a rocket but just seem to climb too high. The ball carries about 220 yards but with very little rollout. I recently made up an M890 driver (10*) with a Kuro Kage Black HBP 50 gram (reg flex) which is supposed to give a mid launch trajectory. I LOVE the feel and sound of this combination but feel I’m loosing 15-20 yards because of the steep decent. I have tried changing ball positions and teeing it lower with no success. I average 10 fairway a round so I don’t want to loose that. Is there another shaft that you would recommend for a slower swing speed that would keep the flight lower?
statchamp: that’s a good idea. If I understand correctly the string would be 3 ft in front of you (perpendicular to the target line). How high should the string be?
Seems like this would really help to shallow out the swing for the driver, as well as help hit punch shots as well with irons.
