I’d like to hear some gap solutions in the lower irons for these sets moving from the gap wedge into MG wedges. I’m thinking that a 50 degree moving into a 52 then 58 is adequate for me. But the wedge and gap with these sets is very strong. So let’s hear what everyone is using from the gap wedge in the sets into the wedge profiles. Personally I’m thinking of ditching a 3 wood and using a longer shafted 5 wood to make room.

Hey, Bill. In these 2 sets you have either a 48 or a 49 degree gap wedge loft. My preference is to weaken the gap wedges to 50 degrees, then go with wedges of 54 and 58. I also like to keep a 60 on hand for those courses where I might face tighter lies around the green and need to play lob shots. Depends on the player, the courses, and the player’s preference in wedge play. If a golfer always uses a 56 around the green, then I’d adjust and gap the wedge lofts accordingly. Also, the TE Forged set has weaker lofts throughout, and a 47 degree PW. In that case, I’d go with wedges of 52, 56, and 60. The 52 becomes the gap wedge in that scenario.
