Any idea of what the ACTUAL VCOG and the MOI of the U30 6 iron would be?
You’re right. The MPF chart numbers were for the 5 iron. Good catch! This chart shows it for the 6 iron in LH, which should be the same or very close:
I checked the chart previously Michael and it’s mislabeled: it shows the 6 iron, but it’s actually the 5 iron.
Brett, let me know previously that the 6 iron MPF is actually 951 which is ~60 pts different. This indicates to me the VCOG and MOI would be different also, along with a couple of other factors.
The fact that the 6 iron is higher in loft would indicate also that the VCOG would be a bit higher than .635″.
I’ll wait for Brett to respond when he gets a chance.
thanks for your input, it’s much appreciated.
Hello, Randy. Actual VCOG is 0.635. MOI is 12.5633
You can find the numbers for all Maltby irons here: https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/MPF_MALTBY.pdf
thanks Michael, that’s actually for the 5 iron. From a previous discussion with Brett, somewhere around 2010 golfworks transitioned from 5 iron to 6 iron. My guess it was because of stronger lofts in the irons.
I’ll repost my question.
