Rlafoone’s explanation is accurate. Generally speaking a higher bounce angle raises the vertical cg which can negatively effect the playability. The front to back sole radius plays a roll as well. You have to have the right amount of bounce and proper sole radius front to back and we would never reduce a bounce from what is proper just to lower the vertical cg. However, I have started to see some models with a lot of bounce on a #6 iron (for reasons I don’t understand), and it does negatively effect the vertical cg.
