When I trim Score LT shafts to R-flex; they do not seem to behave properly. I’ve done a 3 iron and two 58 degree wedges and none of them compare favorably to a Dynamic R-300. Has anyone experienced similar results?
The Score LT shafts and the Dynamic Gold R300 shafts are totally different designs and you really can not compare them. The Score LT is a lightweight High trajectory shaft. The Dynamic Gold, even in the R flex, is a low trajectory shaft that is standard weight. The Dynamic Gold is the lowest trajectory steel shaft available and that is why it is favored by so many good players. The Score LT was developed to offer players a lightweight steel shaft that promoted higher trajectories. They should not, and will not perform the same.

I’m aware of that and apologize for phrasing the question in the inelegant manner I did…or done did…it’s one a them. I meant to convey that Score LT shafts, when trimmed to R (tip-wise) do not feel like R. Not to me anyways…and my base R-flex is the R300. I was just trying to see if I could get an inexpensive shaft to behave like a more expensive one. My whole bag is Maltby and the odd ones out are the 54 and 58…both clubpaks and both Score LT. Both are Tricepts and both are never leaving my bag; but they are the weird twin sisters…IYGMD.
That is the answer I was looking for. I phrased the question poorly, so thanks. The trouble I was having was that trimming Score LT shafts to regular did not seem to produce “regular” flex. I guessed totally wrong and went the opposite way…thinking I had to trim a bit more from the tip to offset the “high” trajectory…which I assumed meant low bend point. What you are saying makes total sense.
