I’m new to building clubs and I was wondering about shaft length progression. Wishon mentions that 3/8″ progression vs. 1/2″ would make your clubs feel more natural in length vs. the 1/2″ traditional progression. Any thoughts on that? I would prefer them to be closer in length as I find the wedges too short for my liking. Too much hunching over for my taste with the shorter clubs. Just wanted some opinions before I build my first set with an nontraditional length progression.
I agree with the other two writers. Remember also that T Wishon is a proponent of MOI matching which is another reason he is partial to 3/8″ differences. It’s easier to hit your number if the shafts are a bit shorter.
