First, thanks for the new Maltby forum. Great job!
My question is a follow up on a recent one…which Maltby/Golfworks clubs are approved by the USGA? Any current models?
Thanks again, Britt!
We manufacture all of our clubs to conform to the USGA guidelines. The exception would be the Defiant Driver which we intentionally designed to exceed the USGA guidelines for size and spring face (CT). We have not sent all of our current models in, but are in the process. Currently, the ST-2 driver in both lofts and the ST-2A in the 9.5 have been tested and approved by the USGA. The 10.5 degree of the ST-2A should be approved shortly. We plan to send several models into the USGA the remainder of this year and into the spring of next year. There are numerous past models we have produced already approved and on the USGA site.

The Defiant One is non-conforming and never will be because of its size. The other Maltby clubs are built to be conforming, but haven’t been submitted to the USGA for testing because of the prohibitive cost involved. Each loft has to be tested, so sending an ajustable driver head to be tested makes a lot more sense. You can check what clubheads are USGA conforming by searching the list of conforming clubs. Search using: The Golfworks
Thanks. I knew they were conforming. I just don’t want one of my customers to have me custom fit him for a great set of Maltby irons, like the TE forged that I personally use, only to find he can’t compete with them in some tournaments, like USGA events. I’m eager to find out when any of our clubs are OFFICIALLY recognized as conforming. By the way, I don’t think there are better clubs to be found anywhere than what we have with Maltby/Golfworks. Thanks again, Britt.
